PREMIUM CHANGES
In 2018, the employee premium for
medical and dental will increase slightly.
Maintaining healthy lifestyles, using
generic prescription drugs, when
available, and being smart consumers
of health care will help control costs and
minimize premium impacts in the future.
Additionally, we are fortunate that Aflac
continues to subsidize a significant
portion of benefits costs. The 2018
premiums can be found at
my.Aflac.com > Employee Services > Benefits.
PHARMACY
Health care and drug costs continue
to rise. It’s important to manage these
increasing costs as decisions made
today influence the premiums paid
tomorrow. Beginning Jan. 1, 2018,
there will be additional measures to help
encourage more generic drug use and
discourage brand-name use when a
generic may be available. Use of generic
drugs is one of the most impactful
ways to lower and manage drug costs.
